Furnished holiday letting

Trade for LR purposes?

Didn't find your answer?

Simple question it would seem but I can't find any definitive guidance - is a company's FHL treated as a trade or not for the purposes of loan relationships? Because FHL is treated as a trade for specified purposes, but with no mention of loan relationships (other than income tax on relief for interest on loans to traders), my guess is not, so loan interest is an NTLR debit,  but alternative views welcome.

TIA

Well, since a furnished holiday letting business is *treated* as a trade for certain purposes it is, by definition, not a trade. And so, by definition, absent any provision to the contrary, related loan relationship items must be ...?
