Get a refund of CGT if paid through 60 day return

has anyone had any luck getting a clients refund of CGT when paid through the 60-day CGT return

Didn't find your answer?

We filed a CGT return but when the 2021-22 SA return was completed, there were trading losses which were used to offset the gain and reduce the tax payable. The sale and tax padi were included on the return but the credit easn't automatically creditted to the SA record. I've just contacted the agent helpline (only a 45 min wait today) to process this and I've been informed that I have to call back when I have the bank account details (name, number & sort-code), date the payment cleared the bank account and confirm the exact amount.

Once HMRC have this, they will process the repayment but I have been told that tit will take at least 17 weeks for it to be repaid.

I understood that this process was to be streamlined and repaid through the SA return or am I mistaken. Surely HMRC can see this is a waste of our time and theirs.

Has anyone haad any experience of this?

With thanks

Think that was only for 2022/2023 on.

If you had no knowledge of hmrc and were asked to evaluate , your instinct would tell you they were probably a scam due to the delays ,
