Gift Aid Donations

Gift Aid Donations

Didn't find your answer?

Hi one & all,

One of my clients donated a lot in charity in 2019 tax year. However I found out that the charity is registered in USA. My client is British and a higher rate tax payer. My question is, would my client get any tax relief i.e. by increasing the BRB or else?

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe that USA is a specified territory so my guess is, no, your client cannot claim Gift Aid relief.

No. See FA 2010 Schedule 6.
