Google/Meta ad invoices NOT reverse charge?

The invoice doesn't say so, just says VAT 0%. How do I treat it?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi, I've seen both Google and Facebook invoices that clearly state "you must account for domestic reverse charge".

But now I have 2 invoices in front of me, from Google Ireland and Meta Ireland. Google invoice simply says "VAT 0%", Meta invoice doesn't even mention VAT (although it has their Irish VAT number undearneath its address). Neither mentions about the reverse charge.

Should I still account for domestic reverse charge on expense? Or should I account for zero rated?

I appreciate your help.

in all likelyhood yes based on what you have said - i cant think of any othe logical explanation.

Now we are no longer part of the eu our ability to monitor what overseas companies should do is much less simple.

I would say if you have any doubts ask them for vat invoice and confirmation that the services are provided under the reverse charge rules.

It's reverse charge, not domestic reverse charge. They are not accounted for the same way on the VAT return.

I see, thank you so much, I just realised looking at the software (Xero) and I had got the two confused.

So in this case (Google/Facebook ads); should I mark them as Reverse Charge or Zero Rated?

sorry - i have missed the domestic bit in you post , apologies for that. Definately reverse charge - not domestic reverse charged. They are two different things - unless you do uk construction work or very very niche other stuff you wont ever use domestic reverse charged.

on xero reverse charged - not zero rated
