Government Gateway

Is anyone having problems logging in

Didn't find your answer?

I cannot login to my agent account.  I'm entering my user ID  and password as usual but when I click on sign in I get a blank screen and then get taken back to sign in page.  Also when using Moneysoft Payroll when I click on check/download new coding notices I get "Could not log on - The Government Gateway has rejected the credentials".  Everything was fine when I last logged in yesterday morning.  Is anyone else having problems?

Yes, just spent 28 minutes on the phone to helpdesk. They are going to 'escalate the problem'. Got the same Payroll message too!

20 minutes of that ****ing 9 second loop for me. Does it make anyone else want to start hurling stuff across the room? It's like water torture!

Thanks all - have just spoken to the helpdesk and apparently the system shows I successfully logged in at about the time I got the error message saying my credentials had been rejected! Glad it's not just me having issues but what a pain!!!

@SteLacca
files and concards, 'z'ing underpayments with no chance of them coming back to bite you, 5ci count that meant something, those were indeed the days

Yes, I too can't log on! Just keeps going back to the sign in page.

Interestingly i can log on to my own personal account, but not the Agent Account!

I am not only unable to access HMRC but cannot access my bank accounts also. ( two different banks)

Is this an HMRC problem or an internet problem

Yeap
Got in for some time
Dropped again
Can't log back in
Just called the HMRC online services
The pre-recorded message say the are busy
and then dropped the call 'sorry can't deal with your call'
Something for the Institutes to take up - if HMRC have issues we need an online message to say they are aware and then we (may) stop calling the helpline?
Looks like it is only the agents login that is rejecting logins as I can get into 'my own' online account

Useless tossers. HOW DARE they even think of forcing Making Tax Digital on us with this load of drivel on a regular basis? Only 2 weeks ago 2 corporation tax returns went into indefinite suspense, this was only fixed after a week when I escalated to AAM service.

Successfully logged in. Still no recent PAYE notices even though received an email yesterday telling me I had some. What is recent? Old system you could search by entering dates and type. New system defaults to "recent" with no facility to change search dates. Not exactly progress is it.

Have just managed successfully to login to my agents page and also separately check via Moneysoft coding notices. The most frustrating thing about this is my impression when I did get through to online services was that the agent I spoke to had no idea that this was a general problem as opposed to specific to my account! Instead of all the pre recorded messages about things I already know (like there's lots of help and advice on our website) one right at the start "We are aware of problems accessing our service and are working to resolve them" and when fixed - "Issues around accessing our services have now been resolves. If you are still experiencing difficulties please hold to speak to an advisor". It's really not rocket science!!!!!

Finally I can now access self assessment - the problem is now I can't remember why I wanted to log on or which client it was about. Is this how senile dementia starts ?

FFS - Gateway seems to have fallen over again. Have just tried to submit an FPS and guess what "Could not log on - The Government Gateway has rejected the credentials"

Will HMRC blame BT again?
The "BT" problem doesn't hold water as other websites have been working - it has only been HMRC where the problems have been, or that how it was yesdterday morning for me.
