gross calculation when part worked/furloughed

might be a simple calculation for some, but I am struggling

Didn't find your answer?

Employee A, works his con'trated hours, full time. In the pay period in question, he works 5 days and furloughed the rest. I calculated 18 days to be furlougyhed in this particular pay period. 5 days at full pay, 18 days at 80% daily rate. I am assuming I am correct even though they normally get a salary each month.

My problem is this:

Employee B, salaried at full time, but for the last 10 months, works when he feel like it. Some month is 5 days, some months is 10 and so on. About 9 months ago, I started paying him days works rather than his salary minus days not work. Then furlough happens. Worked 5 days then was furlouged. february payroll was 10 days, average over 12 months is 11 days. IF I pay him 5 days in full, how do I calculate his furlough pay for the rest of the pay period which is the 16th to the 15th of each month??

Can you help?

The CJRS grant for irregular workers will cover the greater of their average pay over the last twelve months or their pay for the same period last year. You don't say what his pay was for the same period last year, but if it's more than 11 days then use that, otherwise use 11 days, and apportion it as 5 days worked 6 (or more) days furloughed, with furloughed days reduced to 80% if that is what you've previously agreed with your employees.

Brilliant, that helps a lot. Since he was on full pay in April last year, it will means that he will get 80% of his full salary (instead of using his February salary). Lucky begger!!
