Hand-deliver document to HMRC - Bournemouth?

Hand-deliver document to HMRC - Bournemouth?

Didn't find your answer?

I have a client who is making a last-minute overpayment relief claim. If the form arrives in my office tomorrow, rather than today, is it still possible to hand-deliver it to a Revenue office?

The one I have in mind is the Bournemouth office, as all other local offices are closed. I haven't needed to deliver anything by hand in years, and no longer know what is open and what is closed, other than enquiry centres some time ago.

I recently had to hand over in a file to HMRC Castle Meadows

To Hedglen, I recently had to hand over in a file to HMRC Castle Meadows and found that i had to telephone ahead to alert them that I would be visiting so that they could alert the gatehouse of my attendance and car reg.

I don't know the Bournemouth office per se but, I would suggest you do the same to ensure no problems on arrival.

i would say probably not

...since all the enquiry centres have closed the only way into a tax office is by appointment only.

I thought that it was still possible to deliver to a place where HMRC staff worked, even after all the enquiry centres closed (SAM120501 gives guidance about 31 October paper SA Returns)

I tried calling the agent helpline and although the did not say it was no longer possible, they couldn't tell me (as in didn't know) which offices were still occupied by staff.

HMRC Bournemouth

Last time I was there was a few years a go now but they had blocked up the letter box and were not accepting mail. I'm not sure if its still open but last I heard it was being used as training centre.

It is still open.

A very kind HMRC employee got in touch to let me know that a letterbox at Bournemouth (Holland House) is still available for post and is opened at 9am every day. I made the delivery in time!
