Happy Christmas everyone

Good morning and happy Christmas

Didn't find your answer?

Compliments of the season to all my fellow Awebbers - !

I feel a little smug, as I have no "SA Season" in my line of work - good luck to all those that do!

Happy Christmas to all.

All cooking on/food prepared and I now have 30 minutes spare for a small cigar and a glass of Fleurie to get ahead of the pack.

Main plan for later is to be snoring by eight.

thank you and likewise. As you know most in-practice accountants for years now since the inception of SA cannot enjoy the festive season with their families like the others. No easy but we are stuck with it as this is the only thing we know how to do and not easy to change clients. I guess one could say there are many things worse than this, life is hard for all and no complaints but the question for many accountants is how many years can a person go through this emotionally, socially and family draining situation?

I've got several urgent things to do before 31 Jan, including tax returns, and have felt frazzled this year for the first time. However, a lot of the pressure is due to me not being tough enough with the late clients earlier. We're only stuck with a situation if we don't do anything about it.
Look for clients who are better quality and more helpful with deadlines and ditch those who aren't.

Seriously ?

I've never put this much pressure on myself. Sure - I'll do my best to file on time for a tardy client but, if I don't, it's his fault not mine.

Does it matter if you can't change clients ? If they're not bothered, why are you ?

I have a widowed lady client who I visited last year. She was grumbling that she needed to get her stuff together at Christmas when she was busy.

"Why don't you do it in summer?" I asked.

She seemed genuinely shocked.

You too. And make your New Year's resolution to get those tricky clients sorted. One way or another.

Hi I understand where you are coming from and you are right to a degree. However, the problems are partly down to clients, down to the system itself and down to my practice's inherent problems (which I hope to solve soon).
