As someone who is occasionally fond of the sound of his own voice I am finding it increasingly difficult to contribute. I can't even pick a fight any more.
Would you agree that Any answers has become soporific? Is there so much apathy that you can't even be bothered to answer this question? Don't blame you.

I blame Brexit and Climate breakdown for draining energy levels and a growing realisation that accountancy and tax is boring.
Thats one way to build a thread.
Andy am I correct in thinking that you have a bit of a background in recruitment.
"Do not blame it on the sunshine
Do not blame it on the moonlight
Do not blame it on good times
Blame it on the boogie "
The boogie is responsible for so many good things, so I will not let the Boogie be the fall guy here.
Is it not the time as surely in Q3 everyone should be mega busy?
How much more can you say about the idiots who run HMRC? It has all been said.
I am past caring
I blame nasty mean people for posting nasty and mean replies to idiotic people posting idiotic questions.
Or do I blame idiotic people for asking idiotic questions to nasty mean people?
On balance I think I mainly blame the font and the silly photos.
It's never been the same since the value pricing genius from Cornwall (the one that had multiple company failures) stopped winding people up. I doubt many others would have the ability to generate 100 posts from one thread. It didn't contribute much to CPD but it was hilarious reading his defence of the indefensible.
Is your 'beef' just with Any Answers? Or is there anything article-wise you would like to see and then comment upon? Rebecca Cave and I'll have a go at articles/comments etc on the tax and corporate governance side.
I remember (dimly) in the good ole days that there were lots of posts about really complicated stuff that I will never come across myself or would get help if I did.
I read these with interest not entirely understanding. Steve Kesby or someone equally knowledgeable would roll up and answer succinctly.
Those were the days!
I think it went downhill when they fixed the swear filter so PNL couldn’t say [***] anymore. Or even [***] or [***].
The secret is not to sift. Just dip in occasionally.
And to return your kind words when our roles were reversed (I'm borrowing these - it's DJKL territory really)...
You can't leave now brother
Don't leave now brother
'Cos we love you
But, if you go I hope you get there
If you get there I hope you like it
"If you leave me now you'll take away the biggest part of me
No baby please do not go
And if you leave me now you'll take away the very heart of me
No baby please do not go, no I just want you to stay
A love like ours is love that's hard to find
How could we let it slip away?
We've come to far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way?
When tomorrow comes and we both regret
The things we said today"
Despite not being a member of the elite tier of knowledgable contributors, even I have been thinking recently that there’s too many [***] questions & threads - every month it seems to be harder to find something really interesting; harder to hold my attention away from work, life & the universe.
I’ll keep at it though- always been a sucker for punishment.
One quick tip: avoid threads with the word "mojo" in the heading.
At least half of them are complete ****
Let's face it: we're all just boring. Could we persuade Bob Harper to come back, even on a temporary basis, to kick things off a bit?
I've certainly taken less interest in Aweb, in recent months and, I can think of a few other members, who've taken time-out.
As I get older, even though I thoroughly enjoy what i do, I'm finding that I do have to concentrate more!
As others have inferred, the old thrust of Aweb seems sadly lacking recently.
