Has anyone any experience of using Odoo?

Is Odoo any good?

Didn't find your answer?

Hi All,

We are currently using Zoho One (Encompasses; Accounts,Stock, CRM, Support, Stock etc.) We are looking at our next step and cant afford the time/funds to deploy Microsfofy Dyanics or some version of SAP. We have come across Odoo after attending a recent roadshow. Is anyone using it? How is your experience of it? Any other recommendations of software would be great. We want a fully integrated systems with financials, stock, quotes, orders, invoices etc. It also needs to have serial numbering.

We started using Odoo a couple of years ago. We were mainly looking for Crm software with built in mass mailing, that didn’t cost the earth.

We ended up using it for almost everything, including moving our online store to it.

Using on line store, Crm, mailing, sales, inventory, manufacturing, and invoicing.
Having all this work seamlessly together saves us hours.

We don’t use full accounting on it at present - as the version we have didn’t support MTD , so we have a plug-in that sends invoices to xero. Currently all purchasing is through xero. Hoping to move everything to Odoo soon, when we get around to updating it.

It takes a bit of technical knowledge to get it up and running. It also takes a bit of getting your head around all the functionality -but once it’s up and running it’s great.

If you're going to go to the bother of registering for this site and then writing an advert ... the least you could do would be to declare your interest (without needing me to trawl Google to find it)!

Lack of transparency is but one step from dishonesty.

I’m not really sure what to make of that. I have no affiliation with Odoo, just a bit of experience using it. OP was looking for views on Odoo which I gave.

If you're truly not affiliated to the company, then I'm happy to withdraw that comment.

There are quite a few attempts at 'cheap marketing' that pose as questions and/or endorsements on here .... so when a post arrives talking of a company that no-one I know appears to have heard of, then a little light 'research' ensues.

And if you type 'Odoo and Sion' into Google, you get a lot of results that suggest much overlap between those two words - such as:
"Sion Trade S.A.S. - Odoo is a suite of open source business apps"

Don't usually encounter such coincidences!

No worries. Just googled it :)
It doesn’t help that I logged in with my Google account so it looked like I hadn’t posted before.

Odoo is actually pretty big, just not well known in the uk - which is what led me here to see if anyone was using it for accounting. We use loads else on it, but still send invoices to xero for vat returns, and run purchases through xero.

Are you the Steve Johnson, the Oodo business consultant?

Ummm... not you, Sion - I was asking the original poster johnson_ste whether he's the Steve Johnson whose Linkedin profile says business consultant at Odoo.

Must confess, I was confused (but because you actually 'responded' to me).
However, safe in the knowledge that those names have never been associated with me AND that I wouldn't even know how to login to LinkedIn, I just ignored what I presumed was a case of finger inaccuracy after some early evening's imbibing!
