Didn't find your answer?

Hi everyone. I keep getting this message every now and again. Is this worth it? Has anyone done this?

Not sure. Looks pretty rigorous ….

“ At the end of the program, there will be a Chartered exam comprised of 50 multiple choice questions. Upon passing the exam, you will be accredited with Chartered Financial Controller (CFC™) designation.

98% of students who have taken this exam have passed the exam successfully.

The exam has 50 multiple choice questions and you need to answer 25 out of 50 questions correctly to pass the exam.

You can re-take the exam online as many times as you want, with no additional charges for retaking of exams.”

Not sure whether I would want to be a CFC. Hole in the Ozone Layer comments?

I wouldn't mind being a Chartered Fat Controller. I gather the railways pay good money nowadays.

"Is this worth it? Has anyone done this?"
No and possibly (but probably wouldn't admit to it).

Chartered in this context means no more than "acquired membership of a professional body" ... so the questions are (a) has anyone heard of that 'professional body'? and (b) how much effort and money will it cost you to acquire it?
From what others have said the answers to those are No, and Not much.

So if you regard it as a fun way to spend a little time and like the ability to put letters after your name that no-one understands (but might fool a few), then go ahead.

BTW if you're on the trail of collecting 'qualifications' then there's a long list from which to choose ... try googling Certified Financial Controller and, like your option, you'll find a choice of competing 'suppliers' from different countries!

There are more than one kind of CFC?
And 10 hours. That is really gruelling.
Americans really know how to set tough exams. Odd really that this particular CFC is a trade mark.

Trademarks are a really curious area (making VAT look common-sensical!) and get very murky indeed when (a) they relate merely to a TLA and (b) the 'owner' seeks to have it registered across multiple different jurisdictions ... both of which apply here!

Just received an email in Thailand to take this course for US$2,000. My issues with it as follows: 1) the price seems high and time required seems low to be a legitimate certificate. I already have a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) certification from USA which is much more rigorous (self study over 3 years with 3 progressive exams) but that (CFA) has minimal cost but you study hard on your own. pass rate is nuch lower then CFC. This program seems to be a few days on line and then everyone passes a multiple guess exam. 2) not sure I need the online course or would honestly learn much new. I would consider this certification but frankly with 30 years experience in all these topics, I can probably teach the course. Thus if there is a path to register individually for a CFC program (ie not through a corporate sponsor / seminar company) and take the test on my own I would choose that path. Any thought?

"Any thought?"
Yeah .. whatever you're promoting, there's no demand for it (here)!
