Has anyone had this response from HMRC ?

This was received after trying to file VAT MTD return.

Didn't find your answer?

"HMRC error = 404 NOT FOUND "HMRC message = THE REMOTE ENDPOINT HAS INDICATED THAT NO DATA CAN BE FOUND.

Software House say ask HMRC. HMRC say ask Software House !

To you, to me.
IT connections indicating that MTD ITSA will be always the taxpayers fault for errors and filing failures

Very unhelpful comment from your software provider . They should know typical situations where that error is generated and be able top advise them not helping here is ultra poor customer services - you need to simply try all the options and see what is broke.

Can you file other returns on same software?
Can you file that return on other software?
Does return exist in agent area?
Try another browser?
I am presuming its given that cliejnt is mtd registered.
Have you checked entered credentials are correct forn that client.
Do nothing and come back next day and problem may go away

If everything else is working and return is known to exist and i cant file via other software thats the only time i would get hmrc involved. Very rare its simply hmrc glitch when error message pops up - altho if you have exhausted all other avenues it could well be.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I have finally cracked it by pestering HMRC (Oh my phone bill) . Who have admitted the glitch in their records . They had failed to sign the client for VAT MTD when setting up the registration. Thanks to everyone for the help and supportive comments.

" They had failed to sign the client for VAT MTD when setting up the registration"
Just to make clear unless anything has changed recently thats your job or the clients job - you would probably not be alone in presuming that may be automatic now - but that wsnt the case last time i looked.
