Has website got worse?

Font size and adverts seem to have become even bigger

Didn't find your answer?

I'm not sure if this is just me, but recently I'm finding accountingweb's page style even more cumbersome and unreadable, due to the font sizes and adverts seeming to have become bigger.

Have I accidentally altered a browser setting or has the website become even more clunky, (cynically, perhaps in an effort to make the PPC adverts even more prominent) ?

For me, it looks the same as it has done since the "redesign", as far as I can recall.

Hi Tom,

The font size is the same. Have you checked your zoom settings?

All the best,

Richard

I'm getting the same effect on 3 different browsers, whether I login to the website or not, so it is neither a browser setting nor a site user setting.

What I've just realised is that the new appearance is since I allowed my PC's Windows 10 upgrade to go through... I've checked about 10 other websites since noticing the problem and only AW appears to be affected.

EDIT: The "new" problem was later revealed to be the loss of a previously applied zoom setting. Without a zoom-out the website isn't really usable.

I find the screen jumps up and down a few times on first loading the page.

Not noticed it getting any worse. Still too much white space and in order to view it in any useful way on my PC I have a default zoom of 60%. It's not ideal but any smaller and I'll need to get reading glasses aswell, any bigger and I can't actually see more than 1 comment.

The good news is that i have fully recovered from the scrollitis brought on from the initial revamp.

Nope, can't afford them. Mrs Democratus always needs new shoes.

Thank you everybody, I've worked out what the problem was. I must have previously had a zoom setting of 75% on my normal browser just for AW, and the Windows 10 upgrade removed that for some reason.

Without that zoom the website is essentially unusable IMHO. I guess I first applied that zoom when the website got "hacked by a rival".
