By coming home from work late, tired, getting a takeaway then falling asleep in front of the telly whilst Mrs ALISK tells me how siht & unromantic I am compared to all her friends & family members.

Left flowers and a card in the kitchen when I left this morning tho, so I can tick Valentines off.

Update - Mrs ALISK has informed me / confirmed that as Baby ALISK is ill/grumpy/screaming, she & I are having a takeaway tonight and will try to do a Valentines meal tomorrow night.

Mrs ALISK had hidden a M&S box of ‘I couldn’t BEAR life without you’ gummy bear sweets under the sarnies in my lunchbox :)

I'll go to the pub and buy myself a pint (no work tomorrow), and then go home to my empty apartment.

Don't be lonely on Valentines day. Why not invite round a hooker?

You could knit a lovely scarf together...

I'm sure if I really wanted to I could find a woman of ill repute in a bar who would be considerably cheaper than a hooker. I tend to find a couple of G&Ts can cut it.

our house this morning - "mummy, why do me, baby & daddy have cards and chocolate but you don't?"
I am expecting big things when I get home tonight after that guilt trip!

Did you pay your child some extra pocket money to ask that question Fiona ;)? You'll have to update us tomorrow on whether the guilt trip worked!

Mr G and I mumbled "Happy Valentine's" to each other this morning. I then bought myself a Terry's Chocolate Orange which I am now devouring. Who says romance is dead?

Got nothing for Mrs U and found a card and pressie on the kitchen counter when I got up for breakfast at sparrow's fart.

Think I have got away with it though as we went out for a meal last night, it being warmer than a house where the boiler blew up a week ago (hopefully fitting of the new one will be complete when I get home tonight!)

We just went for lunch to the local gastro pub and one of my local clients was at the next table. Talking loudly office politics so I made my presence known, I don’t think they were delighted to see us!

I sent flowers to a gorgeous woman whom I have been pursuing for some time.

Interflora was very late in delivery, about 5pm. The impact was not the same.

Roses and Roses- one lot in water the other in a cardboard box with instructions explaining which sweet is which.

Then the gesture beyond love, handed over £5 to other half suggesting she place it on Celtic to win, sat with her supportively through the downs and downs of the match.

I think my futile gesture was appreciated as she watched her second Green Team quashed by a distinct gulf in class.
