I've had an email from what I believe is a genuine HMRC inquiry into a client's latest VAT Return. I was expecting the inquiry as it was a large refund. I know that this is going OTT and I wouldn't normally, but the client is the sort that will flat out ask me the question ... I need to ring to verify that it's genuine. Obviously the officer's phne number (landline & mobile) is on the email, but I can't get in from the HMRC website or anywhere on line to call directly.
Can anyone tell me where I can find the number for:
Individuals & Small Business Compliance|Complex & Agents, Graeme House, Derby Square, Liverpool, L2 7XS
Thanks

Where are you based?
I have a number for an officer on exactly this scenario but she is based in Manchester - North and East Midlands.
Easy solution - write back and say you don't want to use emails and they will write instead
