HMRC down again

Can't log in to any services

Didn't find your answer?

Without fail, HMRC services are down again in a busy period. If only they knew when it was each year and could create capacity.

If that ever happens the system can go down 4 times a year instead!

Yes, I get a message that the service is unavailable and to contact HMRC if the matter is urgent. Good luck with that!

Utterly abysmal. I know it's been said a hundred times before but any private sector business who constantly and consistently failed like this would have been consigned to the dustbin of history years ago.

Might be good news.

If its off for 24 hours an extension should follow.

Having said that, that means another week of PITA bottom of the barrel stuff.

No extension, no extension!

Assume most of HMRC are currently working on a directive to raise standards among tax agents.

Last time I looked they were busy patrolling the picket lines - and looking very cold.
But there's a rumour that they've identified a new fuel to feed the braziers ... sacks of unanswered correspondence from agents & taxpayers!

That is so funny. If only we could go on strike.

Yet I have just lodged three returns today (an individual and two trusts) with no issues or delays.

Just two more returns to lodge (two of our directors, returns done just waiting their approval) and that will be me for yet another year with likely only three more years to do ever. (Unless I do my own return in retirement)
