Has anyone else had clients approach them re reminder emails from HMRC where the return is submitted?
Client emailed me yesterday over a reminder email for his 2019 TR just received where the return was submitted at the beginning of June and shows as received on the Gov Gateway.
The email does not appear to be any sort of phishing attempt, but is annoying considering how long ago the return was submitted. I could understand (sort of) if the return had only been submitted in the last couple of weeks, but very nearly 6 months ago!?

Think mine was worded "if you haven't completed your return … you might want to watch a webinar "
A client did send me a copy of an email from HMRC yesterday asking him to login to read a secure message and querying whether or not it was a scam.
I confirmed it was genuine, but I don't know the content of the secure message. I assumed it was a reminder for the 31 January payment, but it could have been an SATR reminder. Return was submitted in June similar to yours.
Yes, I had this week from a client "I thought you said you had submitted by return"
I had one yesterday for my own return which was submitted in June.
It was followed up with

Did you reply with "I AM one of them..."?
We should bill HMRC £100 for every client who contacts us for assurance that everything is tickety.
Treasury can afford it, based on Election spending spree.
Thats bloody HMRC for you. They cant do the job they are supposed to but waste their time and ours by these silly messages. Happens every year. Customers then get irate as to why their tax return has'nt been sent yet when it already has.
The annoyance is that on the printed letters theres now no DAY, just the month and Year where the date should be so HMRC can afford to be incorrect by a month! Upon one phonecall i was told the data their letters are based on could be 8 weeks out of date!
