... and Agents lined up to take the flak again!

Couple of alerts last night (before the news re the Chancellor had percolated out into the wider world): 

1. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax: service availability and issues - "The planned downtime from 8am on Saturday 9 July 2022 to 11:30am on Sunday 10 July 2022 has changed, it will now start at 5pm on Friday 8 July 2022 and finish at 9am on Monday 11 July 2022" ... so whole weekend gone.

BTW exactly the same applies to MTD for VAT ... AND to the Agent Services Account!

AND this is in addition to "Planned downtime from 8am to 6pm on Wednesday 6 July 2022 has been added" ... so take the day off today?

2. Register as a Software Developer - "You no longer need to send your company website address, postal address and telephone number to the Software Developer Support Team if you’re a software developer wanting to create an XML product to interact with HMRC online" ... aka we're desperate so won't ask you any awkward questions!

I know I'm a cynic, but if this was a private company then that would be enough red flags to cause me to seek elsewhere before giving them my business ...

If this were a private company, I wouldn't have such a gripe with them calling people their 'customers'

Just seen ICAEW's latest email re ongoing dialogue between HMRC and the Professional Bodies about Service Standards. According to HMRC's response of 27th June overall customer satisfaction has remained at over 80%, which i find incredible although i guess they haven't stated what level of satisfaction that is!
I'm also sure the satisfaction levels of Agent's is significantly lower than 80% and at rock bottom, but as we know Agents aren't important.

I have suggested that they should change the hold music to "I can't get no satisfaction"
