They appear to have moved it! GRRRRR!!!!
OMG just had a similar panic - they appear to have replaced the usual sign in with a new sign in page to sign in to your personal tax account which isn't ready yet. Found the correct sign in page in my history https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/login?GAREASONCODE=-1&GARESOURCEID=Common&GAURI=https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/home&Reason=-1&APPID=Common&URI=https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/home hopefully this will work for you too?
Why would they do this, this close to the tax deadline?!
Yield
Why would they do this, this close to the tax deadline?!
Probably to increase the penalty yield.
It may seem cynical - but I just don't trust them any more.

I've spoken to HMRC online services. They've had a lot of calls and have no idea why it has happened and cannot do anything to fix it. They've told me to fill in the help form at the bottom of the page to get it escalated. Crazy. What idiot in HMRC decided to do this - and in January too!
Thank you Sparkly
Thanks Sparkly - I imagine everyone reading this is copying your link in order to login in to HMRC as before.
Apparently it is changing
Used to be able to view it through our software, but it's not possible now because of the changes, which is a right royal PITA
Thank God for Accounting Web! How else would us accountants ever know what the hell is going on with HMRC or indeed how to access their systems. It's a right bloody state of affairs.
Monday morning could be interesting their end
The change seemed to happen around 7.30pm last night - so all those other accountants(obviously more organised than us!) that aren't working over the weekend will be on the phone to them on Monday morning!
Thank you so much. I almost cacked myself when I tried to get into it this morning.
Thank you so so much.
They moved from hmrc.gov.uk ...
... to GOV.UK in the second half of December 2014. Why do it as we approach the deadline? Surely it would be better to leave it until February then do it. Also, why issue all the 2016-17 coding notices during January? At that point HMRC still have to receive millions of Returns so the notices have to be amended and we're already busy trying to meet the deadline and then get queries from clients with coding notices. And some employers fail to action them because they're received too far in advance: or are mistaken for 2015-16. Whenever I ask HMRC staff who decides when these changes are made no one can answer. It is obviously someone so high up that they're so far removed from what goes on at ground level. They need to work on the shop floor for 12 months to experience the real world.
