HMRC online authorisation question

Taxfiler and link to HMRC data

Didn't find your answer?

Hello

I use taxfile and noticed there is a useful 'view HMRC date' link when producing SA100's. But when I click on the link it tells me: The HMRC service does not recognise the authorisation.

I am the registered agent, in that I have an agent account with HMRC and have been through the authorisation process for my clients so I can submit their tax return.

Is this because I do not hold a 64(8) ? I always thought this was just another way of authorising?

Would anyone be able to clarify this for me? Many thanks

I think you need to set up Taxfiler to use your agent account, and authorise it. I have no idea how you do this, I've never used the software, but I would guess that's your issue.

If you can log in to the HMRC site and see your client's information then you have the access required for this to work, it just doesn't appear to be set up correctly in Taxfiler.
