HMRC Online Authority not on Gov Gateway

Didn't find your answer?

Submitted an online 64-8 authroisation code the other week for a client's PAYE to do their furlough claim. It's still not showing within our agent government gateway, nearly 2 weeks later. Is anyone else having this problem? Historically it's showed up the next day.

Try this:

Login and go to PAYE services
Click Manage Team Access
Click Clients
Under "Assigned to" choose "Nobody (unassigned)" and click Filter
See if they appear under this list and if so assign them

Oh my goodness, I did not even know this existed! Is it new? I think I found them, you superstar! Thank you so much. Love more hoops to jump through, thanks HMRC.

It's not new no. What's new is hmrc not allocating clients to the team member when there is only one of them.

I think HMRC introduced the extra hoops a few years ago when they switched from hmrc.gov.uk to GOV.UK. I don't recall HMRC telling us about the extra hoops and I only stumbled across them some time later when I noticed clients were not appearing on our lists.

Are you sure it's not just HMRC's way of sidelining professionals (except when they need us, of course)?

I'm obviously doing something wrong because when I log to my government gateway and select PAYE under 'your services', I don't see anything about, Manage team access'.

It's not quite that far I found.

Please find instructions below as to what to do when an authority isn’t showing on HMRC after you’ve entered the authorisation code.

Login to HMRC.

Select ‘Your Account’ on the left hand side, then ‘Manage Team Access’.

Under the ‘Clients’ tab you can then select different taxes / schemes and who they are assigned to.

Under ‘Assigned To’, select, ‘Nobody (unassigned)’ and ‘Filter’ the results.

You can then see a list of authorisations that have been done, but are floating in limbo (and can’t be seen on our Government Gateway) until assigned to a team member. Assign them to a team member and they will now appear in the relevant tax / scheme.

Thanks Annie for a very detailed description but, oh dear, no luck .
Okay, so I go to HMRC services – sign in or register and I go to ‘sign in using Government gateway’ which automatically signs me in to ‘agent services’ which gives me access to self-assessment, corporation tax, VAT, PAYE and cis. There is nothing on the left side at all. Is there a different gateway account which I should be accessing?

It's on the first screen you see when you log in: the screen that includes the link 'Activate or access online services'.
