Hmrc online data taxfiler

Didn't find your answer?

Hi,

I have seen the HMRC online data tab on the tax filer software and tried setting it up. Entered my normal hmrc agent login and password and went through security. I keep getting a reply that authorisation could not be processed please try again later.

I emailed tax filer and they say....

'The HMRC Online Data, needs a different authorisation code from your agent ids used for submitting returns to HMRC.
You need to apply to HMRC separately for these'.

How do i register for this? as i cant find anything on their site.

Thanks in advance

I set this up a while back and pretty sure that we used the 'usual' login info.

Has anything been updated with online data? Last I heard the only working function through taxfiler was a check of the marriage transfer allowance.

The day it pulls through employment income from HMRC records is going to be a big cause for celebration!

Message I got from Taxcalc

Unfortunately HMRC have confirmed that their server is down. This should only affect the API server and return submissions should still work as normal. We do not yet have an expected time of when this should be resolved so we would recommend that you try again at a later point. Please keep an eye on our website for the HMRC Status section to identify when HMRC have reported that this problem is fixed.

Looks like Taxfiler is one of the last ones to use the api to pull employment data through etc. Looking very much forward to the day it does.

I spoke to taxfiler back in May about this, and they said they wanted to be sure it was all working properly rather than allowing HMRC to use their customers as guinea pigs.
Seemed sensible back in May, but would sure like to have had it this month.

Hello,

We’ll figure this out…

Q1: Do you have a Sage One Partner Edition login?

I.e. Can you login to https://accountants.sageone.com

If yes, go to Q2

Q2: From Sage Personal Tax Account Viewer, are you able to click Launch Sage Personal Tax Account Viewer and login using the same details as Q1?

If yes, go to Q3.

Q3: Do you see Status: Not Connected message?

If yes, go to Q4.

Q4: Are you able to click Connect and connect to HMRC?

Kind regards

I got registered for this on Taxfiler, but had to clear cache IIRC.

If you are stuck (and bearing in mind HMRC decided January would be a good month to reauthorise agents for this and introduce additional verication so it has not been working for the last couple of days) an email to Taxfiler Support normally gets a very quick response.

So does Taxfiler have this function now? I tried it a few months ago and it said it wasn't available yet.

Thanks all for the replies, hopefully its a case of waiting it for the hmrc servers to go back online.

It was just Tax filers response that threw me with regards to needing another login id.

just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to Chris strong from Sage.

You have saved me so much time and hassle.

The personal tax viewer has worked perfectly and I've been able to see employment income for all the client's who have 'lost' this info and where we're waiting on the info from HMRC (by snail mail).

Thanks again!

You’re very welcome, I’m pleased we’ve been able to assist you and give you some time back through Self-Assessment.

We just need to get NH up and running so that they can gain the benefits of the Sage Personal Tax Account Viewer too.

Chris, I managed to get this working on the third attempt, theres no doubt it is a great help and thanks for your time.
I wish the Sage technical support would have at least replied to me a couple of weeks ago, but nevermind.
