Has anyone else got a problem with HMRC online this morning? I can't file VAT returns through Xero and also if I try to log in to the HMRC website directly I get 'sorry we are experiencing technical difficulties'. There is nothing on the service availability page to indicate that there is an issue.

I posted the exact same thing a while ago - at least they had the good grace to crash on 1st Feb not 31 Jan, though that doesn't help me file my last payroll for January......
I get the same. Although I did log in earlier on this morning without any problems. Lets hope it's not down all day.

Same here. CJRS claims stopped working mid morning and I can't log on to my agent account.
Anything to do with logging in on HMRC's website seems to be down. Great place to check online is DownDetectorHMRC - type into Google and it should go straight to the relevant page. I've been advised by my accounting software provider to give it a couple of hours and hopefully my VAT return will have gone through - otherwise I may have to contact HMRC to get them to reset the VAT return period. So much fun on a Monday morning!!
It was working much earlier today but now still isn't. Says experiencing technical difficulties - try again in a few minutes (when it still doesn't work).
I was also hoping to clear a few VAT returns I left while prioritising SATRs......

It's still down for CJRS reclaims and now can't log into agent account at all. Was hoping to get CJRS reclaims done and a couple of VAT Returns done and have this coming weekend off (but maybe not). Have forgotten what weekends off are anyway.
On the positive side at least it didn't all crash yesterday.
I have just been able to submit a RTI through Moneysoft, so ~she whispers~ it might be back again.
This morning still down for agent authorisation. Also messages not appearing. I have a VAT registration pending for which I have received the email prompting me to check my messages but alas no message present.
VAT webchat also not working, although this isn't a technical error, just lazy-assed, work-shy HMRC loafers.
