HMRC PAYE 64-8 OR FB12

HMRC Limited Access

Didn't find your answer?

I completed the 'Get authorised by a client' details for PAYE for a client. It has however only given me limited access as it says a FB12 has been completed and that I can apply online for full authorisation, if required, which will give me access to payments and liabilities etc.  I can only see one process for applying online through my agents HMRC account through 'get authorised by a client'. Why is it not treating my application as a 64-8? and giving me full access to my clients PAYE records? If I am not applying the correct way, what is the correct way?

64-8 is the general authorisation. FB12 is for the agent to use PAYE/CIS online service.

Agents don't get access to paye payment records unless they have been invited to participate in the beta trial.

Because that would involve a simple, straightforward and transparent process, whereas HMRC prefer difficult, convoluted and opaque processes.
