HMRC RANT!!!!

This is just a rant................

What absolute idiot at HMRC thought it would be a good idea to close down the gateway today from 1pm to 4pm so we cannot submit RTI submissions including yearends?

Seriously, could they not have done it overnight??

Oh I wish, our whole Payroll Department is in Saturday and Sunday this weekend!!

Transferring 350 payrolls from one system to another and dealing with yearend is not fun and I did not need HMRC systems to go down!!

If we can file RTI returns and get acknowledgements using Moneysoft, the HMRC systems are obviously not down.  Presumably, we are getting acknowledgements so fast because the rest of you happy filers have been locked out by your software.

Really?

Although we are getting a warning message on Moneysoft when we click to file an RTI return - that there may be a delay in obtaining an acknowledgement and do we want to continue - if we do continue, the submission goes through and the acknowledgement comes back as quickly as usual.

Agreed also!

Sage has apparently stopped any RTI processing as it doesn't want any glitches when the HMRC system is back up and running according to my colleague - I have left my remaining payrolls till Monday so I hope they haven't got any glitches by then! It's a total pain in the neck to be honest as I wanted to get the payrolls done today

Yes

Sage have stopped the ability to process and within IRIS if you set one to go you cant use the system whilst it is sending and the last one took 45 minutes to go!!

You couldn't make it up!

As Euan, warning with Moneysoft but went through as quickly as usual and e-mail receipts back as well within a couple of minutes.
