Currently suffering technical difficulties

Didn't find your answer?

All calls to all numbers being killed off/terminated due to" technical difficulties." What sort of a shambles have they now become if you can't even get through on the telephone

It's their Plan B now that they can't shut the phone lines over the Summer. They will just make them completely non-operational instead. :-0

Yep, just been on hold to CT helpline for 47 minutes, then technical difficulties so told me to sod off. Never used the 'webchat' before so thought I'd give it a go for a laugh. Same thing, when you put in the recommended 'advisor' to contact a human, they appear to be having the same technical difficulties. What a farce.

Normal service for HMRC is exactly as you describe
They were ordered not to officially close the lines, so just switch them off instead.
And AccyWeb supporting the HMRC position.

This feels like a future dystopia. We are all time travellers

My 3 year old granddaughter puts her hands over her ears and recites 'la,la,la,la' loudly when she doesn't want to listen.

Works for her.

Simply they are testing MTD ITSA, but only have one 13 amp socket. In order to plug in the MTD server they have to unplug the telephone system first. The same problem occurs when Doris does their hoovering. They are in the process of setting up a task force to send someone out to purchase a two-way adapter, and hope to have that task completed by some time in 2035.

I wonder if my Doctor's surgery, is wired up to HMRC!
Aren't we in a right old pickle?

I haven't given up using the telephone to get through to HMRC, and I have even been lucky enough to speak to a human being recently, but as you say a shambles and I doubt that MTD software will improve matters.

Are all* their lines still down now (and therefore 'handily' likely to remain so over the 4-day break)?

If so, can someone kindly confirm which specific services were unavailable all day?
