I submitted a 2019/20 return early April so client can get his repayment of tax quickly. Unfortunately incorrect bank details provided by client who failed to notice his error on the copy of the tax return provided. HMRC account states that repayment was made 21st April - I would normally expect this to bounce back and be available for repayment by now but obviously in the circumstances an extended delay is likely. I called the agent dedicated as soon as the problem was identified and was told to wait ten working days. The two or three times I have tried since I've been told to call back another time. Thankfully client is chasing me every other day in case I forget. Anyone in a similar boat who can advise on likely timings?

I'm waiting on three call backs, the oldest one is from 30 April, calling and chasing does nothing, it appears only tier three can do anything and they have no incoming call line (allegedly, at least).
I have a client in the same situation. HMRC stated that the repayment was sent to his bank account, but he hasn't received his repayment nothing.
Also, other clients chasing up every day(and is a nightmare) for their repayment since early April which they haven't received it yet. Does anyone know what is going on with tax repayments from HMRC?
This year we had over 30 cis repayment cis clients. Only one was stopped for security checks.
Incidentally, his records keeping is immaculate. All jobs with invoices, expenses stamped. In two words - a dream client to work with.
Very modest repayment too (less than£1,000)
We've been chasing his repayment for weeks now and we have to wait till mid June before it can be escalated to tier2
It's so frustrating as we could evidence every amount from the self employment pages to the nearest penny. No estimates , no provisions had to be used.
Could it be it is sitting in someone else's bank account and HMRC can't recover and it will not raise another payment until it can
