HMRC scanning delays

HMRC scanning delays

Didn't find your answer?

I sent a letter to HMRC, PO Box 168, Bootle four weeks ago and a copy of the original letter about ten days ago.

Neither have appeared on the HMRC "system" yet.

Is there a delay between receiving the letter and scanning it? If so, does anyone know how long the delay is please?

Sadly not Paul

because the department will deal with it as soon as they receive it but nobody knows when they will receive it!

believe it
I spoke to an adviser on the agent line yesterday to ask if my letter of 1 Feb had been received....

Nope.. No scan on system.

Even when I explained that they must have as a cheque went with it that had been cashed I was met with resistance..

Crazy system.

I eventually managed to send a fax at 8pm

Whether or not the right person will receive it is another matter.

This goes from bad to worse

Having been told the fax was in the office where the inquiry is being handled, I've just been told it's in Bootle and my scan will be treated as if it was a letter which had arrived today.

Wonderful

And this "privatised" scanning is costing us £4m  http://edmgroup.com/edm-group-wins-hmrc-contract-worth-4-million/#.Vv0xr...
