HMRC - ''SORRY GOODBYE''

HMRC - ''SORRY GOODBYE''

Didn't find your answer?

Just tried to call HMRC this morning, on hold for 5 minutes after going through the horrendous menu system. Yes I know you are on strike today, yes I know you are very busy and yes I know I can check for lots of useful information on your website, but I'd actually like to speak to a real person - the nice lady told me ''SORRY GOODBYE'' and ended my call.

I despair!!

PS Does anyone know if we still have agent priority numbers for CT?

Not for agents- isn't one

The quoted CT helpline number is exactly that- just for a generic company helpline- not dedicated to agents. There isn't one for CT. One of my major gripes as I principally d/w companies. Have to sit through acres of non-relevant recorded material before being able to get to anyone to actually speak to and of course they are not technically trained, only call centre staff. For anything complex, they have to refer to CT District who may or may not call you back within the alleged 2 working days  response time. In my experience they may not even call back at all.  Absolutely unsatisfactory, but there you are, no one wants to pay for a better system.

Thank you yes I realised the number wasnt solely for agents and was just hoping, as in days gone by, that somewhere hidden was a number us agents can use.

I have learnt hitting # repeatedly saves having to listen to the pre-recorded message.

I know we all have the same issues but dealing with HMRC is now becoming almost impossible!

Brilliant!

just used ######## on the Employers helpline and it worked!!!

Put straight in the queue, although that is apparently over 15 mins long but at least I didn't have to deal with that automated question rubbish, thanks for that tip.
