HMRC statements

why arent 2107 18 payments on accounts showing on statement

Didn't find your answer?

Client has  received a statement from HMRC  but it does not mention the 2017 18 payment on account, also when you go to the drop down for year 2017 18 aint ther either! I presume that this is an HMRC error why is likely to prove catastrophic to many taxpayers.

This was noted as an issue in another thread, but I have also had issues with returns being received electronically but not processed onto the system. Initially this looked to be connected with MAT claims, but I have had one that was not.

The only way to get them processed seems to be to ring the Agent Line who then pass the problem upstream and the return gets released and SA system updated within a couple of weeks - probably longer now with Christmas & New Year getting in the way.

It's not catastrophic, is it ?

A bit of interest is the worst scenario.

if people think they have less to pay than they should have then there is likely to be a shortfall on payment which the client will then have to find if not corrected asap. Also HMRC might not get the expected SA tax receipts . i regard both as catastrophic ;-) heads should roll but wont

Surely you tell them what to pay ?

If they don't do as they're told, it's hardly your fault.

Chill. It's Christmas.

Yes but you can surely understand the confusion when they get another piece of paper from HMRC saying something different.
I chill down on Thursday off to Switzerland ;-) have a lovely christmas
