Holy Grail PM Software

Holy Grail PM Software

Didn't find your answer?

We are finding TaxCalc Practice Management side is not cutting it for us. Apart from this aspect, we are pleased with TaxCalc for tax and accounts production.

We are looking for our Holy Grail PM software. At least we are trying to find THE solution.

We are thinking either:

  • Glide or
  • Xero Practice Manager - downside, NOT geared for Accountants. They have taken a one size fits all software and add some minor changes and called it Practice Manager.

Questions

If you use TaxCalc what do you use as your Prac Manager Software?

Taxcalc - You need to up your game on PM. What's the delay TC?

What is your experience either with Glide or Xero PM?

We're just in the process of moving to Glide, it seems good to us in that it automatically prepopulates the jobs each year/quarter/month to stop us missing any. It also seems very flexible in terms of setting up.

We use Taxcalc and have been on Xero PM for around 14 months now. The software is ok, but does lack a few features that we'd ideally like. It's also been a little dissapointing that Xero don't seem to have moved the software on at all in the last 12 months

Having looked at the Glide website, the two products look pretty similar in features.

The software keeps a good track on deadlines and you can set up recurring jobs so you don't need to keep creating them.

Overall, I'm happy with what we've got. I keep looking at other solutions, but haven't found anything yet that is significantly better to make yet another software switch worthwhile

Digita Practice Management -its not perfect but can handle almost everything. I had a look at Maximer in the cloud. I was put off by the mamouth task of setting it up. having set up Digita I appreciate that it would not have been a mamouthtask.

We used to use Taxcalc for accounts and tax returns but looked for another option given the poor PM facility as we used to use an excel spreadsheet but got difficult to maintain as client numbers grew.

We ended up moving to IRIS. Ok, it is expensive but you get what you pay for with most things in life.

It does everything we need now from a PM viewpoint. We use accounts production, business tax, personal tax, automail, fixed asset register, practice management, time and fees modules. We also use IRIS openspace to electronically get accounts and tax returns approved by clients however clients not finding it as easy to use as hellosign which we previously used for electronically approval of documents.

We also have recently started using myworkpapers which directly links with IRIS accounts productions so now no longer have hard copy working papers.
