Im counting down the months re Furlough. Oh that my clients were all nice straightforward salaried employees taking holiday as holiday and not variable. What Clever Clogs came up with "comparison in the equivalent month last year" so we are not only handling with Holiday pay but Furlough calculation. I end up with print outs all over the place - getting in a muddle over this July and last July. Oh to return to 12.07% with Holiday Pay. Clients were capable of sorting that out and employees could understand it from their payslips. This actually is another job I've taken on board because quite frankly employers havent a clue what Im talking about re the current legislation

I hate furlough!!! So many oddities & grey areas in the legislation & guidance, plus other than helpful answers on Accountingweb, there's nobody to ask about anything - HMRC call handlers and webchat operators are pretty clueless!
Just so fiddly and time consuming. HMRC Webchat don’t fill me with any confidence either; a few times this week they’ve just told me to phone 0800 024 1222.
On another note, our HR say you can’t use 12.07% for holiday pay any more!
No. I meant that in my OP. Another hassle. Some of my clients worked out their overtime for employees but it’s beyond them now.

I just have our own staff (30) to worry about - but still taken me most of the day.
Plus, we can't forecast what staff we need for next week - so have to 'guess' in order to ensure flexi people get paid their actual rate for the work done.
Next month no doubt lots of checking back and comparing.
Plus the vagaries of part time etc.
