Hosted Desktop UK price hike

Do you know any details?

Didn't find your answer?

I had an email on 22nd May from Trevor Roberts, a director of HDUK, who told me that no-one likes a price rise, but they need to do this from 1 July 2020 and hope that I feel it is good value for money. He didn't give me any details of the price rise. Presumably I shouldn't worry my pretty little head about it.

Trevor is clearly not used to businesses needing more detail than this.

HDUK provide a good service, but seem pretty hopeless at giving details of imminent price rises.

Let's hope they understand that we need details of these price rises asap. Not everyone will want to continue, depending on their COVID situation.

Isn't the whole concept of a hosted desktop outmoded given that you have the same functionality just by using cloud solutions anyway?

Why pay extra for something that sits in the middle and slows everything down when you could use products that allow you to work anywhere in the world at any time?

There is a massive current demand for virtual desktops and Microsoft have there very own version. As Microsoft Partner we are seeing growth in this area for lots of reasons. Less dependency on local hardware, simple backup methods, easily scalable, integrated with other types of working such as CAD. Easier to maintain a centralised model than a decentralised fleet of PCs.
