How to change AML supervisory body with HMRC

AML Supervsion

Didn't find your answer?

I am existing memeber of IFA ,however been approached by AIA and can see that there memebrship benefits are much better than IFA( eg Tolly's tax guides etc). Thats why I am thinking to switch my PL from IFA to AIA, and obviously AML supervsion as well.

My question, how can I change my AML details with HMRC? Is it a long process ( checked HMRC agent account it does not give any details)?

Im not 100% sure I'll have to check at renewal but I believe when the aml with hmrc expires you have the option to either renew or notify them of who mow supervises you.

Now its out of Beta phase there is an option to 'update' your record to show you are moving to a professional body. This is bvia your own business account UTR login, same place you would 'renew'.

Care though, keep a screen print as proof. Ive just been chased for renewal with all sorts of threats after moving in 2018. This despite telling them via email back in 2018 as the option to 'update' was not available as the system was then still in Beta phase. Plus despite having an acknowledgement of the email at the time.

I believe that your new regulatory body will tell HMRC that they are now the new supervising body for you
