How to move from flat rate vat accrual to cash?

There doesn't seem to be much guidance from HMRC on how to switch to vat FRS cash...

Hi, Can a kind member here please advise how to move from the flat rate vat scheme on an accrual basis to flat rate vat scheme on a cash basis?
There doesn't seem to be any guidance on this from HMRC...
I really appreciate your help. Thank you

The guidance you seek is in Notice 733, chapter 12: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-notice-733-flat-rate-sche...

Hi leshoward,
Thank you for your reply. However, I am not planning to leave the scheme, I just want to change the method to vat FRS cash based turnover. Would you say that's the same as leaving the scheme?

Thank you. Would you know when HMRC needs to be notified? There doesn't seem to be much guidance on this.

You don't need to notify.

Just do it.

Basically - don't include anything twice.

I would probably make lists of debtors and creditors at the changeover date, prepare the VAT return on a cash basis and then deduct debtors from outputs and creditors from inputs.

Other methods are available,
