Hubdoc vs 1tap Receipts (and xero)

Opinions of 1tap Receipts compared with Hubdoc, especially when using Xero accounting

Didn't find your answer?

Hi, does anyone have any insights into 1tap Receipts and how does it compare with Hubdoc?

I am self-employed and I found that 1tap Receipts has been fantastic in helping me snap my receipts, keep track of expenses etc. It extracts data, even converst currency payments to GBP and lets me make manual corrections. However, it does not integrate with xero - it generates reports that could be helpful in submitting self assessment but it's a separate system.

Hubdoc, that I have not yet used, seems to be integrating with Xero but initially it looks much less polished. It is free though so I might give it a go.

If anyone has any experience and could provide some tips, I'd be grateful.

Thanks!

1Tap is the freemium version of ReceiptBank. It's designed as a standalone app, hence the lack of integration, in theory due to the simpler needs of their target market.

So, you could upgrade to full blown ReceiptBank, which would integrate with Xero. It's better than Hubdoc, but you may find it fails the value test if you're only processing small volumes of receipts/invoices. Xero also has some OCR tech (from Hubdoc) baked in which may also be worth exploring.

There are a plethora of alternatives, Pleo, Tide, FreeAgent etc which may all be more suited to what you're looking for in terms of record keeping and compliance
