I had a baby! Small practice recruitment - where would you look?

I had a baby! Small practice recruitment -...

Didn't find your answer?

Hello! Long time no see, Mr Monsoon Jr is 5 months old and a delight! I also have this thing called an accountancy practice which sadly now needs my attention (i managed to get 5 months off, which I'm pretty impressed about). I blogged about it in the latest AAT magazine :)

Any recruitment tips? This vacancy I have is part time and very similar to one I ran 3 years ago and I found an absolute gem. I'm hoping to do the same again but so far I haven't had any luck.

Alternatively can anyone recommend a subcontractor or how to find a good one? I don't think I am brave enough to outsource to India ;-) We need someone who can hit the ground running; we don't have the resources to train anyone up other than in the basics of our systems.

Thanks!

Congratulations!
Congratulations, on the baby and on taking 5 months off!

Unfortunately, I don't have any recruitment tips though. We (a 2 partner practice) are just at the stage of deciding whether to expand, and take on our first employee, or stay as we are. At least you know the type of person you want, we can't even decide on that!

.

Reed is still a fairly inexpensive place to advertise, although it is no longer free.  Most people who are serious about wanting a job will look on Reed.

Rachael, I thought flagrant advertising with links was against site rules?

Have always found Monsoon's advice sound.

Hi Andy,

It is of course against flagrant advertising. However I was just suggesting a website that's relevant and may actually help her find someone.

Try Recruitment Genius

We use this when looking for staff / subbies - they put your adverts across all boards, including Reed
