ICO and sole trader's own personal data

Should my own data on ICO website be private?

Didn't find your answer?

I am a part time sole trader doing bookkeeping and accountancy service on my spare time for a couple of clients. I have just registered with ICO and wondering about my own personal data. I don't belong to any accountancy body (I used to but decided to resign from membership).

As I'm working from home, is my address going to be available on the register for everybody to see? Companies House don't disclose Director's home address so surely for a self employed the same privacy should apply? is it not a GDPR issue?

Yes of course they will publish your details. The info on the register will include your name, address, and the tier you registered under. It is not a GDPR issue because it comes under the public registry exemption.
