No mention of HMRC & Companies House abandoning penalties for being late in delivering documents during the crisis

Why should they? Such a move would be abused left right and centre. The outbreak has minimal impact on the ability to prepare accounts etc, so I can see no case for leniency.

I am sure everyone's first concern would be to 'abuse' any leniency given on penalties if given (its not like they have a business that they are trying to keep afloat or anything), but nice to seen in extraordinary times that there are people out their who are so compassionate....

Agree. The timescales for filing are ample. If you leave something to the last minute there is always the risk of unforeseen events causing delay.
