You won't get a definitive answer though i'm afraid, PM is so personal to the individual/firm that no one size fits all.
Capsule CRM
Depends on what functionality you are looking for.
'CRM' covers a multitude of sins.
I'm a one-man band and have used Capsule CRM since I started 4 years ago. Free for the first two years then happily paying less than £10 per month since as I needed more contact and storage space.
If you BCC every email to clients it keeps a running record of all interactions, plus an invaluable and simple task scheduler means I get a 'to do' list every morning.
Comparing Apples to Oranges
The problem is what is CRM to you is probably the same for me, but will be very different for a multi-national / employee business so trying to find the right solution is difficult.
Even (whisper it) Sage the 'cause celebre' of these parts has CRM Essentials for only £20+VAT per month, which seems cheap compared to your quoted prices.
Capsule CRM is £8 per month + VAT per user for 50,000 contacts and 2GB of storage which is more than enough for me, but I just scratch the surface of CRM.
I use it just as a Customer Relationship Management tool so don't need to pay for anything more. Oh wait, hold on a minute........
CRM or PM
Good points made by @RedFive
CRM as opposed to PM.
If it's pretty straight forward contact and opportunity management then you can also look at http://www.hubspot.com/crm/ which is free (with some obvious low price upgrades) and from a reliable vendor. Reporting is a little basic but robust integrations with outlook, gmail etc, and good features when combined with http://www.getsidekick.com/ email tracking tool.
Cloud based CRM
Hi everyone,
I picked up on this topic as part of my desktop research in to CRM systems for accountants. I am the founder of a CRM software business called Monii. The goal of Monii is to make business easy, efficient and more intelligent.
Whilst it's early days for us, we have had some really positive feedback about our product. In particular, our users like the speed and simplicity of the software.
We have recently concluded our Evaluation Program with over twenty firms and there has been a strong interest from finance professionals. We are keen to work with accountants in shaping the next wave of functionality for the software; in particular our third party integrations with practice management software and other popular cloud based products such as Xero and SageOne.
We're looking at specific ways to protect accounts from revenue leakage, helping them with new business generation and empowering them to forge stronger client relationships.
I would be interested to know how you finally landed on your CRM of choice; and what you find works well. I'm also keen to understand if you have any 'tut' factors - things that could be better. I'm always keen to ensure my team builds what the customer actually needs, not what we think they want.
If you, or anyone reading this would like to connect with me directly, I'd be grateful for your input and comments.
Regards,
Oliver.
