Inexpensive tax return program?

Recommendations for a low cost personal tax return program

Didn't find your answer?

I retired from practice in 2015 and now only have 2 family ITSA returns to deal with.  The renewal cost from my existing providers is not economic, so can anyone recommend a good, low cost program?  One of the returns includes a self-employment and the other has property rental income.

Don't forget to include MTD in your evaluation

If the family members give you authority then file using their HMRC government gateway accounts.

+1
I've been doing my personal returns online for 20 years using the HMRC portal or whatever its called.

At the start, you're asked a series of questions to tailor your return so you only get shown the sections requiring completion. With a bit of guidance, your family members may even be able to do their own returns.

Like Max I would also recommend Top Up Tax as cost effective and up to the job. good support too.
It will cost you £30 inc VAT but you'll get 5 returns for that in this tax year (unused licences expire on 31 March each year)

I'm in the same position. I'm going to have a go with HMRC as my affairs are much more straightforward now. If I don't get on with it, I'll have a go with Top Up Tax.
