I am looking to downsize and wondered if any AW members can recommend a cost effective integrated practice software for accounts production, personal tax, corporate tax and trust tax. I have been using IRIS for the past 25 years but this will be an overkill going forward. For payroll I have been using Moneysoft which I shall continue to use.

My view is it seems "cost effective" and "integrated" do not go together. You tend to get one or the other.
After Iris Anything will be cheaper.
For me if you are a small practice I would look no further than BTC or Taxcalc will give you everything you need for about £1250.
They lack in PM side of things so then bolt on Senta or Accountancy manager and Robert's your fathers brother as they say.

This.
We switched from Iris to Absolute several years ago - again, much cheaper, helpful support and does pretty much everything Iris does.
We have just moved from IRIS to taxcalc.
As said above it is integrated from an accounts and tax viewpoint but its practice management isnt as good as IRIS but we have saved 75% compared to IRIS.
There are plenty of standalone practice management solutions out there such as senta, accountancy manager, whatsglide, karbon. Try all of them and see what suits what you need and what one you like the look of best.
We have decided to go with whatsglide. It just does practice management (job stage tracking), automated chasing by email/text and timesheets. Some of the other do other things such as fee proposal, document exchange portals etc but we feel that whatsglide does what we need and will give us the reporting information that we are looking for.
Plus taxcalc really easy to use (we picked it up within an hour) rather than IRIS which isnt really intuitive to use to use to its full potential. Plus the simple step process for tax returns and checker for accounts is really useful to make sure everything has been recorded as it should.
