Invoice Processing Costs

How much does processing invoices cost a business?

Didn't find your answer?

What is the average cost of processing a single invoice to a business? There are various figures floating around on the soft costs, does anyone have a defintive answer from a reliable source?

42.

Not sure whether that's pence, pounds or grand.

Come come, who knows/cares ? It depends on the assumptions you make.

Cost per AP person per year including oncost £25,000.
250 days
£100 per day.
Divide by expected number of invoices dealt with per day.
Bear in mind quick 'expenses' invoices are simpler to process than complex three way matching ones.

ha ha - depends really on the job I suppose. For us, it involves three way matching, placing all purchase orders, managing the payment runs / bacs files, supplier queries etc, closing the monthly ledger etc etc - ie the whole supply side of the books.

I guess a pure invoice entry job would pay less - but then in my size business there is not really the volume to segregate these jobs into these neat hierarchies.

Purchase ledger clerk in West Yorkshire are £16-18k comfortably. Nearer Leeds CC £19-21k.

At my firm they are in a grade with a salary starting at just over £18k that rises to £20,500 after several years service.

Hi
Well I just had a look at the Reed site for Glasgow and purchase ledger clerks only or being advertised with salaries between 18,000 to 21,000.
