Last year we moved to IRIS payroll as they promised a lot of things that didn't work. However, I am surprised that IRIS is not able to deal with Mid-year start ie when clients move from other accountants during the year. In Moneysoft we would update P11 info and that was it. But IRIS do not understand this and doesn't calculate NI correctly. Has anyone else come across this. I don't understand how can a software work like that?

I think that you'll find very few on here that use IRIS payroll.
Even fewer would have moved from Moneysoft to IRIS.
I agree with @Wanderer, that is a very unusual move. IRIS get very little love on AWeb. Most on here use BrightPay or Moneysoft.
Best of luck!
Agree with the others, but I did find this

I suppose the biggest surprise, in the payroll field, is that Iris haven't bought either; Moneysoft, or BrightPay. They seem to have swallowed up most other successful and efficient software arrangements.
I negotiated a three year arrangement, with an Iris representative, last year, following their takeover of Keytime. Generally, dealing with Iris representatives is not to be recommended.
At the end of this trip I will be moving on.
It's entirely possible IRIS have tried to buy Moneysoft and Brightpay but they are not for sale. Does everyone have their price? Lets hope not! I for one am hoping MS and BP are here to stay. Competition in the market is good for everyone.
