We are struggling to get the IRIS HMRC data pre-population system to work. IRIS helpline says there is a problem at HMRC end, and you can guess what HMRC say. Has anyone else mastered this?

Are you struggling to set it up, or simply not obtaining any data? If the latter, it's only now starting to come through for the majority of, but not all, clients.
It's HMRC. They are still reconciling, and the data isn't available until they've reconciled.
It seems the only thing real-time about RTI is that employers must report in real time. After that, it's all at HMRC's typically glacial pace.
Apparently it's related to HMRC having to process all P11Ds. Why that impacts non-P11D individuals is another matter, but that's what I was told the other day. Things should start to improve from September onwards.
