Is there a (free!) spreadsheet or calculator for grossing up net pay.

Is there a (free!) spreadsheet or calculator...

Didn't find your answer?

I have some employee/shareholders who are moving onto a more substantial salary rather than a £4K salary + dividends. They want to receive net pay of £45K, £50K & £100K per annum and are all on K codes. Is there a quick and easy method out there of calculating the gross equivalent salary?

Optimisation solution
This is a problem for the data solver/goal seek.
Create a simple model to calulate net pay and then use the data solver/goal seek to calculate the correct amount for the gross pay cell to give you the amount you require in the Net pay Cell.

Possibly
Certainly a payroll package such as DOSH does this type of calculation easily.

If you have to use a free source how about the HMR&C disk. I think you may be able to do such calculations on the disk containing the 'old' PAYE tables etc.?

I think think this does it
Net/Gross calculator

[EDIT] I should have put it on the spreadsheet, but it is E&OE, no liability accepted etc

Nicholas,
yes I am charging the client and fees are calculated on time spent. However this is a one-off client request and it is far more cost effective to use the spreadsheet kindly posted on the forum by Alan Webb than by wasting client fees trying miserably to come up with a formula myself. If I had no responses I would have had gone back to basics!

Net Salary Calculator
When I tried putting in a code of 489L, it gave allowances of 489 instead of 4895.

Pay for it
i know everyone wants something for nothing, are you providing your services for free?

we should pay for software if we are charging for our services based on it.

Oops!!
So it did

Now fixed - same link or Net/Gross calculator though 489 will give 4899, which if I remember rightly is what the pay tables give.
