Is there an accounts app for my type of client?

Most clients don't use a business account (there is a valid reason) & use a private account & cards

Didn't find your answer?

Having the ability to download statements is unnecessary because the vast majority of transactions are private and don't need analysing. Payments are made from private accounts, private credit cards and in cash.

All the clients need is the ability to list payments (without having to specify which account was used to make the payment), very like a spreadsheet but with a dropdown of (not too many) nominal codes to analyse the payment.

Does something so simple exist? And, it has to be simple. My clients aren't bookkeepers.

I looked at QuickBooks Online, having seen the TV adverts, and fell at the first hurdle - I couldn't set up a "catch all" bank account from where all the payments could be made!

VT, or excel with a macro for the nominal codes will do it.

Cloud is not always best.

My clients fall into this group as well and they use their smartphones all the time, mainly as diaries. I think an app could be made more friendly than a spreadsheet which would (hopefully) make the clients more likely to use it. #mytwopenn'orth

I believe there are simple expense trackers available on the App Store (other stores are available) which can be used to track expenses incurred when you're out and about.
I doubt if any of these are designed with integration with any sort of accounts package in mind though, and certainly not with MTD reporting in mind.
Not sure if these would be of any help.
