Is there life after Love Island?

Love Island - Guilty as charged!

Didn't find your answer?

I know..I know... Love Island is rubbish tv. Watching beautiful people bounce around in skimpy clothing, how could I? There was such a buzz about it this year curiosity got the better of me so I had a sneaky peak and suddenly I'm watching it every night.

During the working day, I tend to be thinking of a million things at once so watching Love Island helped me switch off which I don't find easy.

What to watch now? Recommendations, please... I have Netflix. I've watched Stranger things (amazing), Orange is the New Black (getting sick of it) and the new BBC Sherlock Holmes (wow). Thank you!

I notice that there are several previous series of Love Island on Netflix, so you could start there.

You could also try getting out more.

Have you just outed yourself as having binge watched Love Island on Netflix?

Hah! No, it keeps appearing on my suggestions list, usually "because you watched Friends". Not sure how it correlates the two though.

Any match from the 2018 Munster Hurling Championship.

It's been a fantastic year. Best I can remember.

I managed to catch a few hurling matches whilst in Ireland last week. What a sport!

When I started watching it, the goalkeepers wore the same colour jerseys as the outfield players. Which is a bit ago.

The sideline cut is what gets me. I don't know how they get it off the ground, let alone over the bar fifty metres away.

It's a game of incredible skill no doubt... fantastic to watch.

As a Love Island fan, the world is your oyster in terms of viewing. I mean, if you can put up with that garbage, there's not much out there that'll disappoint you.

Very true! It’s pretty rubbish TV but that's why I like it. No thinking required. I've been rewatching the IT Crowd on Netflix. Never fails to entertain.

There was so much chat about Love Island in the office that I felt I needed to watch a few episodes... research purposes only!
Here a few of my Netflix favourites - Ozark, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Line of Duty, Thirteen Reasons Why, Narcos, The Crown, Peaky blinders...

Started on 13 reasons why. It’s pretty light watching but enjoyable. I have to laugh at the makeup artist for the cuts and bruises. God they are awful. Looks like someone just stuck them on with pritt stick. They do a better job on EastEnders. *Not that I watch EastEnders!!

Maybe you can find a live stream of an Orang Utan taking a dump? Or perhaps that's too much of a step up from Love Island.

Holding my hands up - it has been my guilty pleasure. Not our normal sort of thing, but with all the hype Mrs ALISK thought we should give it a go ...

Can second recommendations for:
Breaking Bad, probably the best series in recent history (give the spin-off Better Call Saul a miss though)
Line of Duty
13 reasons (final episode is overly gruesome and wouldn’t have made it onto TV. If you’ve seen it, you know what I mean)
The Unit (for something a bit more ‘manly’

Thank you for all the suggestions. I started watching the new season of Orange Is The New Black and its rubbish. The previous season wasn’t great either but I thought I’d give it another go. Had to turn it off. Harsh words from someone who watches Love Island.

13 Reasons Why is next on my list. Thanks again.
