Is this a new issue with Class 2 NI?

Class 2 NI changed to previous years rate by HMRC

Didn't find your answer?

Like others here we have had a few cases where HMRC have "corrected" a client's 2018/19 tax calculation by removing the Class 2 National Insurance contributions. Today we have received a revised calculation where the original submission showed £153.40 due, being the 2018/19 rate of £2.95/week; this has been replaced with £148.20 which is the 2017/18 rate of £2.85/week.

Is this a general problem, or have we been singled out for special treatment?

It turns out Class 2 was removed form both 17/18 and 18/19 then trying to sort it out the 17/18 NI was allocated to the wrong year and 18/19 hadn't been corrected. At least someone had tried to correct the initial error.
