Isn’t it sensible

Didn't find your answer?

Isn't it sensible in these strange times to mirror the corporation tax rules where we move the filing date of self assessment to the 31st Match ( or 5th April) you do not need to move the payment date from 31st   Jan ( as is CT) but we all get our Xmas... I am calling this MikeyBan's law and this our one chance to regain our Christmas which we have not had for years... come on guys some good must come out of this strange year!

More concerned about MTD for all my rent receiving clients
HMRC have given zero extra filing time for anyone. Cannot see them wanting to make life easier for anyone in the tax trade.

Exactly! They presumably want taxpayers to DIY which has the bonus of giving scope for incorrect return penalties and tax being overpaid by those who don't understand the "simplified" tax system that we enjoy.

We are significantly ahead on SA this year.

Lock down is good for getting paperwork in.

Christmas is up to you, your planning and setting of expectations.. None of my clients expect me to be working between Xmas and New Year.

If you plan to be, then that's 100% down to you, you cant blame the clients if you make that part of your service.

I was never keen on having a full week off in the middle of winter.

Two or three days was always enough for me.

Having said that, not counting returns out for signing, I only have 12 left to do with over three months in which to do them.
